At Primal Empowerment -Home of CrossFit Thumbs Up, we pride ourselves on our Community. Our Tribe is made up of people of all ages, with varying careers, and backgrounds. People feel like they belong, in and out of the gym.

Our Programming is geared towards the everyday individual. We believe in General Physical Preparedness (GPP). We want you to have the best hour of your day when you are at the gym, and to be able to come back day after day not feeling beat up. Beyond our general fitness classes, we offer specialty programs (competitor, barbell) looking to take their fitness to the next level - all completely optional.

CFSP/CrossFit Thumbs Up Beach WOD!

Saturday, May 20th 9:30 - 11:30am

Join us at Pass A Grill beach for our beach WOD of 2017. This time we are teaming up with our friends at CrossFit Sabal Park. Everyone is welcome and the workout will be scalable for everyone. There will be a swim component but of course there will be an alternate movement for the swim. Bring a friend or three and we will enjoy the beach with Spike Ball, volleyball, food and drinks after the WOD.

Sunday Yoga with Michelle

Sunday, May 21st at 10am

Join us for a yoga class on the first and third Sunday of every month. Michelle is a fellow CrossFitter who tailors her classes to address the typical aches and pains while getting us #flexy! Free for members, only $12 to drop in!

Memorial Day "MURPH"

Saturday, May 27th at 9:30am

Following the tradition in the CrossFit community, we will participate in the hero WOD "Murph" the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend. We honor fallen Navy Seal, Michael Murphy, with this challenging (but scalable!) workout. Everyone is welcome, no prior experience needed!

If you have a weighted vest, wear it!

Free Clean & Jerk Clinic

Saturday, June 3rd at 8:30am - Team WOD to follow at 9:30am- Brews Post workout at 81 Bay Brewing

Join us for a FREE Clean & Jerk clinic hosted by our very own Coach Joel. This hour will be dedicated to the breakdown of this olympic lift including tips to improve both your strength and technique.

After the clinic, stick around for a Team WOD at 9:30. We will then head to 81 Bay Brewing for a celebratory beverage at noon!

Bike the Bay

Sunday, June 4th at 11am

Let's put our functional fitness to work and go for a bike ride along the bay! We'll meet at the gym and bike to Bayshore Blvd. From there we will make a stop at Sail Pavilion and continue up the Riverwalk. Feel free to join us at any point! We'll get some fresh air and enjoy some adult beverages along the way :) All are welcome!

Join us for this FREE ($199 Value) workshop as we demonstrate and practice 12 foundational movements you will find in a CrossFit group class:

This will be a fun, skill based workshop. Expect to learn and get a little a sweaty.

This is a great opportunity for those that are looking to start their fitness journey, or those interested in CrossFit. It's also an awesome opportunity to sharpen your skills. Golf Scramble

Sunday, June 25th at 8am as we hit the links of MacDill

All skill levels are welcome fore (<- get it) this event. The style of play will be scramble, so if you spend more time in the sand than David Hasselhoff don't worry! We will shoot for an early morning shotgun start, and have you back home for lunch. Stay tuned for more details!
