CrossFit Gift Guide!

It's the season of giving and receiving, and you may have family or friends who are looking for the perfect gift for you, or you may want to give something to your favorite WOD partner. Here is a short list of must-haves for every CrossFit athlete!

Gifts for a CrossFitter: (for you or for someone you know)

  • Wrist wraps - perfect for supporting your wrists during movements like OHS, Front Squats, Handstands, etc. I like wearing them to prevent my hands from getting sweaty too! (Etsy, Rogue Fitness, Strength Wraps)
  • Jump rope - This is a MUST. You should have your own jump rope that you have adjusted to be the perfect length for you. Using one of the gym ropes that may or may not be the right length will not help you get better at DUs, and you may or may not be able to find it each class. GET A JUMP ROPE. (Rogue Fitness, RX Smart Gear, Primal Empowerment)
  • Lifting shoes - Well worth it for squats, cleans, and snatches. They assist you in getting in the proper positioning for lifts, especially for those who have more trouble keeping weight in your heels. (Rogue Fitness, Nike Romaleos, Reebok)
  • Knee sleeves - if your knees bother you while lifting, these will provide protection. I like them for squatting, and they can be pulled down to protect your shins from a barbell as well. (Hook Grip, Rehband)
  • Workout clothes -Basic things to pay attention to are fit and comfort. You don't want baggy clothes or clothes that are too tight they make you self conscious. Leggings shouldn't be see through or leave visible sweat marks. Shorts should be versatile enough to run or jump, but also secure for handstands. Shirts and tanks should let you move around without having to adjust them, and make you feel confident. (Lululemon, Reebok, Nike)
  • CrossFit shoes - Athletic companies have caught on to the need for an all-around shoe you can run, jump, and lift in. They should feel light on your feet and also look good! (Reebok Nano, Nike Metcon, No Bull)
  • Other ideas: gymnastics grips, tape, chalk, weight clips, subscription to CrossFit journal, Gainz box subscription, and weight belt
